The Food I Eat

I’m still figuring this out and advice is always welcome.

I stopped eating wheat about four months ago and I’ve never felt better. Before I gave it up my stomach was so massively bloated that I looked pregnant. Seriously, people would offer me their seat on the bus and say I looked about ready to drop. I got used to tummy troubles and daily pain as well as eczema around my eyes but I wished I could be normal. Then I got ill and all I could stomach was rice pudding and I felt amazing. Even my eczema cleared up. I figured it might be wheat that was making me ill and I haven’t looked back since. I’m not suggesting everyone should stop eating wheat. It’s definitely all about trial and error when it comes to discovering your food intolerances and plenty of people can handle wheat no problem but giving it up changed my life.

As for what I eat on a daily basis:

Breakfast: Porridge with Sweet Freedom (a honey substitute) and natural yogurt

Snack: Banana

Lunch: Homemade soup and salad

Dinner: Varies but I try to get some steamed vegetables in there

Dessert: Berries and frozen yogurt

I used to eat the above, which sounds great, but I teamed it with endless slices of toast (wheat free, but still) smothered in peanut butter and chocolate spread, endless bars of chocolate, full sugar lemonade and all the cheese - just so much cheese. I also never got off my arse, ever.

I guess that’s why it’s so big now..
